The Canadian Bar Association, Prince Edward Island Branch is pleased to announce its President and Executive Committee for the 2025–26 term, effective September 1, 2025.
Sean Seviour Begins His Term as President
This year, we are proud to welcome Sean Seviour as the Branch President for the 2025–26 term. He succeeds Thomas B. Keeler, who served with distinction over the past year.
Sean Seviour is an Associate with Stewart McKelvey in Charlottetown, where he maintains a litigation-focused practice while serving the diverse needs of individual clients. His work spans various areas, including the defence of medical malpractice claims on behalf of professional associations, representation before administrative tribunals in liability and disciplinary matters, and complex multi-party tort litigation involving personal injury, insurance, and professional negligence.
Sean also possesses significant experience in assisting creditors with obtaining and enforcing judgments, prosecuting offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Excise Act, and navigating probate, administration, and estate litigation matters.
A proud Islander, Sean earned his Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law in 2017 after completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Prince Edward Island in 2014. His academic achievements were recognized through the Alistair Fraser Scholarship, along with consistent placements on the UPEI Dean's List.
Sean has actively participated in the Canadian Bar Association – PEI Branch for several years, having previously served as the Young Lawyers Chair, Member at Large, and joining the Executive.. He is also deeply involved in his community, currently serving as President of Basketball PEI.
In 2025, Sean was named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution, reflecting his growing reputation as a skilled and thoughtful advocate. He brings this same dedication, integrity, and leadership to his role as President of the CBA PEI Branch for the 2025–2026 term.
