The Law Society of Prince Edward Island owns and operates a library of legal materials at the Sir Louis Henry Davies Courthouse, 42 Water Street, Charlottetown. They also own a small library at the Prince County Courthouse in Summerside. They offer free legal information and education.

The Department of Justice provides detailed information about Canada’s justice system and courts. The booklet, Canada’s System of Justice, offers a good overview of the Canadian legal system. The PEI Justice and Public Safety Department is an excellent resource for information on the justice system and courts in Prince Edward Island.

If you can’t afford a lawyer or legal services, legal aid is available to help. You must qualify for legal aid to access it. Legal aid is government funded.
